Desktop application development.
I develop desktop applications using Tauri and modern web technologies for businesses that need a dedicated installed tool. That can include a product-management application, a document workflow or an internal operations interface connected to a local or remote database.
Discuss your desktop applicationWhen a browser is not the whole answer.
A dedicated desktop application can make sense when staff need an installed workspace, specific file access or functionality closely connected to their workstation. The application still needs clear screens, data permissions and a reliable way to distribute updates.
Desktop application functionality
- 01
Business management interfaces
Desktop screens for products, customer records, quotations and operational tasks, with navigation designed for repeated daily use.
- 02
Local files, imports and exports
Work with documents, selected folders and structured files, with explicit permissions and checks before information is changed or exported.
- 03
Local and remote data connections
Use local storage or a shared backend according to the requirements. Synchronisation and conflict handling are designed explicitly when both are needed.
- 04
Accounts and staff permissions
Connect staff sign-in and role-based access to the data and actions their job requires, including shared systems used by more than one workstation.
- 05
Tauri and web technologies
Build the interface with web technologies such as React and TypeScript, packaged through Tauri as a desktop application.
- 06
Installation, updates and release testing
Plan the installer, signing, update delivery and testing for the operating systems selected for your project, including Windows or macOS requirements.
Desktop application or browser-based tool?
A browser application is often easier to share across devices. An installed desktop application can be a better fit for workstation-specific tasks and local file access. I compare those needs with installation, security and maintenance responsibilities before recommending either approach.
Design around the working environment.
I confirm which computers will run the application, how staff log in and where the data lives. I prototype the critical workflow first, then develop the interface and data connections. Release testing covers the agreed operating-system versions, permissions and installation process.
Tauri lets me use web technologies for the desktop interface. The data layer may be local, remote or a combination, depending on the business requirements. Support is established and tested for the target operating systems in the project; cross-platform tooling does not remove platform-specific release work.
What affects development cost?
Operating systems, local file access, offline use, data synchronisation, signing and update distribution affect the estimate. Include workstation restrictions, sample files and the tasks staff need to complete when describing your project.

Have a question about your requirements?
Discuss your requirementsCan a desktop application work without an internet connection?
It can if offline use is included in the design. I establish which information must be available locally and what happens when changes are synchronised later. An application that only connects to an online API does not automatically become an offline system because it is installed.
Can you develop for Windows and macOS?
I can plan a Tauri project for the required desktop platforms. The supported operating-system versions, signing requirements, installer and update process are agreed and tested for that implementation. I confirm those requirements before promising a particular release configuration.
Can the desktop tool share information with a web application?
Yes. Both interfaces can use a common backend or supported API. I define the shared records and permissions, and plan how local changes are handled if the desktop application needs to work while disconnected.
